How many revisions are included?

Each commission includes two rounds of revisions during the approved review stages.

The first round is typically used for changes to the initial sketch, composition, pose, or major character details. The second round is intended for smaller refinements, such as color adjustments, facial details, costuming, or finishing touches.

Revisions must remain within the scope of the original commission. Significant changes to the concept, character count, pose, setting, or overall direction may require an additional fee.

Once final artwork has been approved, further changes will be quoted separately.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your commission and begin work.

The remaining balance is due after final approval and before the completed high-resolution files are delivered. Your project will not be added to my production schedule until the deposit and required commission information have been received.

If a project is canceled after work has begun, the deposit compensates for the time already reserved and completed. Additional payment may be required if the amount of work completed exceeds the original deposit.

What files will I receive?

Deliverables are determined by the needs of each project and will be listed in your commission agreement. A typical digital commission may include:

• One high-resolution print-ready file
• One web-optimized file for social media or online promotion
• PNG and/or JPEG formats
• Versions sized for the agreed promotional platforms
• SFW and alternate adult versions, when specifically included in the quote

Layered or editable working files, including PSD or Procreate files, are not included unless separately negotiated.

Printed products, physical artwork, alternate compositions, additional crops, text layouts, animation, and platform-specific graphics must be included in the original quote or added for an additional fee.

Do you accept rush commissions?

Rush commissions may be accepted depending on my schedule and the complexity of the project.

Projects requiring completion sooner than my standard turnaround time will include a rush fee of 25% to 50% of the commission total. The exact fee will depend on the deadline, project scope, and amount of existing work that must be rearranged.

A rush fee reserves priority production time. It does not remove the client’s responsibility to provide references, feedback, approvals, and payment by the agreed deadlines. Delayed responses may affect the final delivery date.

What is the difference between personal and commercial licensing?

Commission pricing covers both the creation of the artwork and a specific license describing how it may be used. Unless otherwise stated in writing, I retain the copyright to the finished artwork.

Licensing is offered in tiers based on the intended use.

Personal-Use License

Personal-use artwork may be displayed privately, shared on personal social media with artist credit, or printed for the client’s own collection.

It may not be used to promote or sell a book, business, subscription, product, service, event, or brand. It may not be reproduced for resale.

Promotional and Marketing License – Flat $50

This license is intended for authors using artwork to promote a book, series, release, or author brand.

Approved uses may include:

• Organic social media posts
• Author websites and newsletters
• Book announcements and cover reveals
• Digital advertisements
• Event signage or promotional displays
• Podcast, interview, or release graphics
• Non-resale promotional materials

This license does not automatically include book covers, unlimited paid advertising, resale products, special-edition printing, crowdfunding rewards, subscription boxes, or merchandise.

Limited Merchandise License – Starting at $100

This license allows the artwork to be reproduced on an agreed product or in a limited print quantity.

Examples may include:

• Art prints
• Art cards
• Character overlays
• Book-box inserts
• Bookmarks
• Stickers
• Convention merchandise
• Preorder incentives
• Special-edition extras

The approved products, quantities, sales channels, and duration of use will be listed in the licensing agreement. Additional quantities or product categories require an expanded license.

Starting at $100, limited up to 100 units. If you feel your products will exceed this, it’s +50% of the total cost of the project

Expanded Commercial License – Starting at $300

An expanded commercial license may be required for large print runs, multiple merchandise categories, subscription products, special editions, retail distribution, publishing-house campaigns, or ongoing commercial use.

Pricing is based on the expected reach, reproduction quantity, product type, distribution, and duration of the campaign.

Exclusive rights, copyright transfers, and complete ownership buyouts are not included in standard commission pricing and must be negotiated separately.

Can I use the artwork on prints or merchandise?

Not automatically.

Prints, merchandise, book boxes, art overlays, preorder incentives, subscription rewards, and other products require a merchandise or commercial reproduction license in addition to the artwork creation fee.

This applies whether the product is sold directly, included with a purchase, used as a crowdfunding reward, or distributed as part of a paid subscription or special edition.

Your license will identify:

• The approved product types
• The number of reproductions allowed
• Whether the items may be sold or only given away
• The approved sales or distribution channels
• The length of the licensing period
• Whether the license is exclusive or nonexclusive

Additional products, reprints, or quantities beyond the original agreement must be licensed separately.

Do I need to own the rights to the characters or book?

Yes. By commissioning artwork, the client confirms that they own, control, or have obtained permission to use all characters, stories, logos, titles, branding, and other intellectual property provided for the project.

Authors may commission artwork based on their own original characters and books. Publishers, assistants, subscription-box companies, and other third parties must have authorization from the appropriate rights holder before commissioning artwork connected to a book or series.

I will not knowingly create unauthorized commercial artwork using copyrighted characters, celebrity likenesses, trademarked properties, or intellectual property owned by another person or company.

The client is responsible for securing any necessary permissions and for ensuring that the requested use does not violate an existing publishing, illustration, licensing, or exclusivity agreement.

Who owns the finished artwork?

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, I retain the copyright and ownership of the finished artwork.

The client receives permission to use the artwork according to the license purchased. The artwork may not be altered, resold, sublicensed, claimed as the client’s own creation, used for artificial intelligence training, minted as an NFT, or provided to another artist or company for derivative work without written permission.

I reserve the right to display completed work in my portfolio, website, social media, and promotional materials unless confidentiality or delayed-publication terms are agreed upon before the project begins.

AI and Human-Created Work Policy

All written and visual work created by me is human-made. I do not use generative AI to write, illustrate, develop, revise, or complete my creative work, and I do not permit my artwork, writing, drafts, concepts, voice, image, or other materials to be used for AI training, prompting, replication, or derivative generation.

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue work with authors, personal assistants, agents, publishers, or other collaborators who use generative AI in place of human creative labor. This includes, but is not limited to, AI-generated or substantially AI-written books, cover art, character art, illustrations, audiobooks, promotional graphics, marketing copy, social media content, trailers, or other creative materials connected to the project.

Anyone wishing to work with me must disclose within their inquiry form whether generative AI has been used in any capacity within the book, artwork, production, or marketing process. Disclosure alone will not automatically result in a refusal to work together. Noncreative or accessibility-related uses may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

However, I will not work on or promote projects where generative AI has been used to create work that should have been written, illustrated, performed, narrated, designed, or otherwise produced by a human creative professional. Failure to disclose relevant AI use may result in the cancellation of the project or collaboration.
